Getting to Phuket
Phuket International Airport (HKT) is served frequently from most major cities in Asia and by direct charter flights from Europe. Do consider a stopover in Bangkok.
Start and Finish Days
Subject to availability, you can start and finish any day. Charters run midday to midday.
Certificates are presently not required to charter in Thailand. A breif resume will be asked for upon booking. Of course previous experience of sailing a similar sized yacht is essential. Sailing is generally very easy, although there is a large tidal range (around 3.5m) so do take this into consideration when anchoring!
Is the Thai Baht (THB). Credit cards are accepted at larger establishments, generally cash only out in the islands.
Local Taxes & Costs
Your charter fee includes applicable taxes. Parts on Phang Nga Bay are a protected national park. If visiting this area a fee per yacht 100 THB and per person 200THB is payable directly to the park ranger (they will visit your yacht). Dining out is the highlight of any trip to Thailand, and good, freshly prepared meals are very cheap. Luxury / imported goods are heavily taxed.
