Marinas, Harbours & Anchorages
There are few quays with water and fuel, but around the islands are many safe anchorages and quiet coves, some with mooring buoys.
Tides & Currents
Tidal range is up to 2m, and currents are generally less than 1 knot, but may be a little stronger in narrow channels.
Weather
North-westerly trade winds from October to March, force 2-3, with sea temperatures up to 29C and occasional rain squalls; cooler south-easterly trades May to September force 3-5. April and November have very little wind.

History
Although visited by Indian Ocean traders for over a thousand years, the islands were first settled only in 1770, and the population is of very mixed origins.

The largest island in the Seychelles and home to Seychelles Inernational Airport.
Praslin
One of the larger inner islands and linked to Mahé by domestic flights and fast catamaran ferry. It has lush tropical forests and beautiful beaches. The base at Baie Ste Anne is only 10 minutes from the airport.
