Marinas, Harbours & Anchorages
There are few marinas and harbours. Most overnight stops will be at anchor in shallow lagoons, sheltered within the coral reef. Fantastic for swimming and snorkelling with a great variety of marine life - tropical fish, turtles and dolphins.
Weather
The sailing season runs from March to November, with temperatures of 24-30oC, very little rainfall and south-easterly trade winds. December to February is the rainy season, with risk of cyclones.
Charter base
Raiatea - Apooiti Marina
The base at Apooiti Marina is 5 minutes from the airport. Raiatea is a 40 minute flight from Tahiti international airport and a few hours sailing to the islands of Taha’a, Huahine, Bora-Bora and Maupiti.
