Marinas, Harbours & Anchorages
On the Cote d’Azur there are numerous well equipped marinas and attractive islands and anchorages, though they are very busy in August. Corsica is much less developed, with few marinas, but many picturesque anchorages.
Tides & Currents
Mediterranean France has a tidal range of only about 0.3m, and currents are generally weak.
Weather
Cote d’Azur: south-easterly sea breezes are common in summer, force 3-5, though there may sometimes be daytime offshore winds. The northerly mistral is not common in summer.
Corsica: fresh westerly winds, often with quite strong gusts blowing down the valleys
on the east coast, and around the northern and southern tips of the island. The overview chart below right is for Corsica.
